Ain Sukhna
A hard working week, stressed from crowded Cairo, so you need some Relaxation
at the Red Sea, where you can swim, snorkel and enjoy the fresh air coming from
Sea. So join us and come to Ain Sukhna, it is the Arabic word for "hot
spring", was named after the nearby sulfur springs. The springs originate
at Gebel Attaka at the eastern Desert. Close enough to Cairo for a Tour for
a day or two days long. This popular weekend Resort has fine beaches, coral
reefs, fishing and water sports. It is located about 55 kilometers (34 miles)
south of Suez, and is the nearest bathing resort to Cairo. Some hotels in Ain
Sukhna are among the best beaches on the Red Sea.
We start our tour at 09.00 on Friday to spend the weekend in a lovely 4 Stars
Hotel, and return on Saturday after Lunch.
Ras Sidr
Friday:
Early morning at 07.00
Start our tour heading to Sinai through Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel. After entering the
Sinai and turning south along the coastal highway, we shall have our first stop
at Oyoun Moussa (Springs of Mousses) it is believed to be the spring where Moses,
turned a bitter spring into sweet drinking water by throwing a branch into it,
as instructed by God after crossing the Red Sea. Today, there remains twelve
springs.
Afterwards we forward to visit one of the most famous springs that is Hammamat
Phara'oun, or "Pharaoh's Bath", which is located in the southern part
of Ras Sidr.
It consists of two parts, including the Kahf Phara'oun, or "Pharaoh's Cave",
and the springs themselves. The cave extends about 25 meters into the mountain,
while the sulfuric water
Springs which line the seashore produce significant quantities of water with
temperatures as high as 75 degree Centigrade .
This water is said to have properties that are effective in the treatment of
bone and skin diseases.
Then spending the rest of the day at Hotel,
Saturday
At 12.00, we start our way back to Cairo, on our way we visit the 800-year-old
fortress known as Qalat El Gundy. Built by Salah el Din, one of Egypt’s
most famous leaders during the ancient Islamic period,. to protect Pilgrimages
to Mecca, as well as to protect Egypt from the Crusaders who at the time had
conquered Jerusalem. It is believed that he used this Fortress to launch attacks
against the Crusaders when he managed to evict them from the Holy City.
Baharia Oases & White Desert
Friday:
At 07.00, departure from Cairo to El Baharia Oases (385km), about five driving
hours.
Upon arrival, Visit beer El Ghaba hot water source (38 degree centigrade), having
a bath in the hot water, and having sight seen tour in Baharia then forward
to. The great White Desert.
(The biggest sand sea all over), afterwards forward to Farafra Oases.
Overnight at Hotel.
Saturday:
Visit to Farafra Museum & Gardens, having the Farewell swim at the hot Spring
(35 Degree centigrade), and head back to Cairo.
Al Ashmunein & Beni Hassan Tour
Friday:
We start our Program at 07.00, driving the Upper Egypt road heading to Mina
province to visit the ancient city of Hermopolis (Magna) is situated to the
northwest of the modern city of Mallawi in the governorate of el-Minia in Middle
Egypt
The southern side of the ancient hill, is covered by the large village of el-Ashmunein
the place was called Khemenu, meaning "the City of the Eight", referring
to the number of primeval gods Hermopolitan. It was also at times called Wenu,
"the City of Hares", probably driven from the name of the fifteenth
Upper Egyptian Nome, which had as its emblem the royal Hare standard. Hermopolis
was its administrative center. The present day name, el-Ashmunein was driven
from Khemenu by way of the Coptic place-name, Shmun.
Overnight at Minia.
Saturday:
after breakfast, we cross the Nile to visit Beni Hassan, It houses 39 rock-cut
tomb decorated with scenes depicting local and regional life during the Middle
Kingdom. Many of these have scenes of violent warfare and military training.
They include: Tomb of Amenemhet (tomb 2): Amenemhet is described as the 'prince
of the Oryx Nome' and was a governor of the Oryx Nome
Here one finds among others one of two inscriptions within the necropolis that
help define Egyptian life in this period. It consists of thirty-two lines on
the door. There are also unusual scenes depicting hunting in the desert on the
north wall. His tomb is unusual for having a false door on the west, where the
dead are suppose to enter.
Afterwards, back to Cairo.
Saint Paul’s & Saint Antonio’s
Monasteries
Friday
At 06.00 We start our tour along the red Sea coast to Visit Saint Paulo’s
& Saint Antonio’s Monasteries at the Red Sea.
St Paul's Monastery, the oldest Coptic monastery in Egypt after St Antonio’s,
lies in a magnificent mountain setting at the head of the Wadi el-Deir. It is
similar in general plan to St Antonio’s Monastery, but is considerably
smaller and more modest and accordingly looks older. Its grandiose situation,
however, makes it in some respects more impressive than Saint Antonio’s.
Afterwards we expand our visit to Saint Antonio’s. Monastery
St. Antonio’s Monastery (Deir Mar Antonio’s), and its neighbor St.
Paul's, are both Coptic Christian and are the oldest inhabited monasteries in
Egypt. Hidden deep in the Red Sea Mountains and depending upon springs for their
water supply; both still have Rituals that have hardly changed within 16 centuries.
Overnight at the hotel in Ein Sochna.
Saturday
We have the whole morning at the Red Sea beach, after Lunch we start our way
back to Cairo.
Wadi Al Rayan & Wadi Hitan Tour
Friday
We start our tour at 09.00 towards Oasis Fayoum to visit Qaroun lake and proceed
to wadi Al Rayan depression which is located in the western desert of Egypt,
about 65 km southwest of the town of El-Fayoum . The Area is composed of * Upper
lake (50.90 km2) * Lower lake (62.00 km2)
• Waterfalls between the two lakes.
• Springs, of which three are sulfur springs at the southern side of the
lower lake, with extensive mobile sand dunes.
• Jabal Manqueer at the south and southeast of the springs where marine
fossils and archeological remains are found. We spend the day at this lovely
protected Area. (Optional) Lunch in Wadi Al Rayan consists of Grilled fresh
fish, from the lake.
Over night in hotel at Fayoum.
Saturday
At the Early Morning we start our way to visit Wadi Hitan The area is characterized
by its integrated desert environment, consisting of different wild animals and
important and various sea fossils. Considered as an open museum, dates back
to 45 million years and contain petrified primitive whales skeletons, shark
teeth, shells and roots of Mangroves preserved in soft rocks. Everywhere you
go here you find petrified seashell and corals.
Afterwards, back to Cairo.
